It is well balanced, rich in tone, very resonant and can handle literally any genre of music. It comes complete with the original Gibson Custom Shop case and COA. A gently arched top with real f-holes, solid maple center block, and rounded symmetrical cutaways gives you the look and tone of the classic Gibson semi-hollow body guitars. The Gibson Custom ES-339 combines the vocal-like tonal qualities of a semi hollowbody with the bite and sustain of a solidbody! This instrument from Gibson Custom is perfect for players looking for that great semi-hollow body tone in a LP/SG solid body size.

Body and Finish
The top, back and sides of the Custom Shop ES-339 are crafted with the same pressed-arch, laminated-maple with solid maple centerblock construction that was used by Gibson to produce the first ES-335s 52 years ago, but the ES-339 is made to more compact dimensions closer to those of Gibson's solidbody electric guitars.

The ES-339's neck and headstock are made in the classic tradition of several great Gibson models, including that of its larger predecessor, the original ES-335. It is carved from a single piece of quarter-sawn mahogany and topped with a rosewood fingerboard.

This one has a very fat 50's neck profile

Pickups and Electronics
The Gibson ES-339 plain top guitar is equipped with pickups and electronics that accurately reflect the originals of the most desirable ES-335s ever made, but with performance enhancements to benefit today's player. A pair of 57 Classic pickups capture that highly sought-after PAF style tone, noted for its unparalleled blend of warmth, richness and clarity, while quality CTS pots, wired with Gibson's Nashville Tone Circuit to maintain highs as you roll down the volume-and a Switchcraft selector and output jack translate the signal in pure vintage style.

Electronics Hardware
The ES-339 semi-hollowbody from Gibson Custom is equipped with hardware that mirrors the look and performance of its predecessor, the larger ES-335. Particulars include green-button Kluson-style tuners, a Tune-o-matic bridge and stop-bar tailpiece both made from the correct metals and plated in nickel, and Gibson's original aluminum strap buttons, all of which contribute to the timeless look and tone of the instrument. The Gibson ES-339 was a hit from its introduction in 2007 using the concept and classic lines of the ES-335, but with a scaled down body. All of the other features line up between the two models – the scale lengths, neck sizes and hardware are the same. The build quality is identical, with Maple laminates for the body, Mahogany for the neck and a Rosewood fingerboard. The headstock logos and position markers are Mother of Pearl.
The Gibson ES or Electric Spanish (as distinct from, say, Hawaiian or Steel) guitar appeared around 1936 as the ES-150, a standard archtop with a fairly large pickup, now commonly called the ‘Charlie Christian’ pickup installed in the neck position. The range of models rapidly grew, first adding pickups to existing designs and ultimately developing new electric-specific models.
But as stage and performance volumes continued to rise, solutions had to be found to the new problem of feedback. First, solid tops and backs were replaced by laminates. Solidbody guitars were an obvious solution as the body could not resonate enough to feed back (though loose pickup coil windings can) and the Fender designs took the market by storm.
Then, in 1958 the ES-335 Thinline appeared, featuring a body as thin as the 1955 Byrdland, but with the addition of a solid center block. This provided the tonal profile of an archtop, but with the feedback resistance of a solidbody. These elegant guitars were immediately popular and have found their place in many musical genres.

It has just been professionally set up and dialed in for optimal playability and tone. It has low action with no buzzing or dead spots and is an absolute joy to play. It has been deep cleaned and detailed. All guitars will arrive looking and playing great. The frets have been dressed/polished and the fingerboard was cleaned.  All the electronics work flawlessly.
