the Signature Set is a complete departure from the PAF clone recipe, without abandoning the sound and feel of a great PAF. Ron was chasing a very specific sound when engineering them, going for tone first, using materials he felt best served what he wanted, rather than being handcuffed by the current marketing craze for "vintage authentic wire", original Kalamazoo winders, etc. One example of the freedom of this approach -- the Bridge is 10K, Neck 9K, but they don't sound the slightest bit overwound. The proprietary magnets have more of a "hi-fi sound" (for lack of a better term) with a sweeping depth and texture on the notes. Crazy rich harmonically, with super clarity (see video).
